(FABIUS TOWNSHIP) – Authorities have apprehended a wanted man.

St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says at 11:52 AM Tuesday, his department responded to the area of Hoffman Road near Pulver Road in Fabius Township after being told that 33 year old Kenneth Scott had been seen.

Deputies locates Scott as he was walking with a bicycle and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to the St. Joseph County Jail and is being held on several warrants.

Scott had escaped from an apartment Saturday following a stand off.

Three Rivers Police were called to Riverside Apartments around 5:30 PM Saturday after Scott was reported to be in the area. Armored vehicles and police from other departments arrived and helped to surround the building.

Police called out to Scott for him to surrender, but he never came out of the apartment, and there were reports of shots being fired.

When officers were finally able to go inside the apartment, they discovered that Scott broke through several walls in next door apartments and got away.

Scott is wanted by the Sturgis and Three Rivers Police on outstanding warrants, including home invasion, weapons charges and fleeing police. In February, Scott was charged in Sturgis with third degree fleeing a police officer and resisting arrest.

In addition, Scott has a warrant out of Alabama from 2021 for failure to pay child support.
