(COLON) – A pursuit that started in St. Joseph County ended in Calhoun County when the 17 year old driver crashed the vehicle.

According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department, deputies tried to stop a white Mustang in Colon for speeding and not having license plates just before 8 AM Monday. The chase went into northwestern Branch County, going through Union City and Sherwood, where the Branch County Sheriff’s Department and Union City Police joined in.

The pursuit came to an end when the Mustang crashed in the area of W Drive South and Seven Mile Road in Calhoun County’s Burlington Township.

The teen was not injured. He was taken back to his home and released into his parents’ custody.
