(NEWBERG TOWNSHIP) – One person was killed and one person injured in a crash that happened in Cass County's Newberg Township.

Sheriff Richard Behnke says his deputies were called to a one vehicle crash on M-60 near Timberlane Drive just after 4 PM Saturday. They determined that 77 year old Roger Wyman of Three Rivers went off the roadway, struck a tree and then overturned. Wyman was ejected in the crash, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wyman's wife, 57 year old Tina Wyman was taken to Three Rivers Health for treatment of her injuries.

Deputies say Roger Wyman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, while Tina Wyman was. Airbags did activate in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Assisting deputies at the scene were the Newberg Fire and Ambulance and the Porter SEPSA Ambulance.
