(STURGIS) - Starting Sunday, the City of Sturgis will have a new ambulance service.

The Sturgis Department Of Public Safety and the City have brought back the Sturgis Ambulance Service. Director of Public Safety Ryan Banaszak explains how this all came about. ...... {LISTEN}.

Banaszak says in December talks intensified about what Sturgis could and should do. He says some of the challenges the City was facing was getting supplies, getting an ambulance and having staff to man the ambulance. Banaszak says luckily some of the current Fire Department staff had worked as ambulance and paramedics employees in the past.

Banaszak says they will continue to monitor how the service goes and see if changes need to be made in the future.
