(CONSTANTINE TOWNSHIP) - The mother of the two children who died in a fire April 25 in Constantine Township has released their names.

According to WWMT, Alezandria Lurye said that her 4 year old son Liam Lurye and her daughter, 3 year old Lillianna Lurye-Gipson, died in a fire that started in their home in the 14,000 block of Timm Road April 25.

Michigan State Police were the first to arrive on scene at 12:21 AM. The structure was fully engulfed in flames. The Constantine and the Fabius-Park Township Fire Departments put out the fire and searched the dwelling, where they found the two children.

When Michigan State Police questioned Alezandria Lurye, she said when the fire broke out, she grabbed a one year old child and got outside. She told police she tried to get back inside to save her other children but was not able to.

Michigan State Police says the exact cause of the fire is still unknown.
