(THREE RIVERS) – A principal in the Three Rivers School District has been re-instated following an investigation.

During their meeting on April 18, the Three Rivers Board of Education unanimously voted to reinstate Andrews Elementary School Principal Ben McIntyre for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year. That reinstatement went into effect on April 25.

The Board of Education met for two hours in a closed session during the April 18 meeting, discussing the matter.

An investigation by Three Rivers Community Schools was conducted into Title IX and workplace misconduct allegations. They claimed that McIntyre violated several of the School Board's policies; failed to perform certain job duties which he was expected to perform and also violated his employment contract.

Three Rivers School Board President Erin Nowak issued a release saying that McIntyre has the ability to exercise better judgment going forward and had a clean disciplinary record prior to the complaints, factors that led to the district reinstating him as principal. The release also says that McIntyre had been an exemplary employee before these complaints and concerns were brought to the District’s attention and he had a clean disciplinary record up to the filing of the complaint.

McIntyre had been on administrative leave since February prior to his reinstatement. He has been the Principal of Andrews Elementary School since 2015.
