(STURGIS) – A vacant seat on the Sturgis City Commission has been filled.

Wednesday night, the Sturgis City Commission voted 6-2 to appoint Frank Perez to the seat, which represents the Fourth Precinct. He and Luis Perez had been interviewed for the position during a Commission work session on April 13.

Frank Perez says he is excited to be appointed and looks forward to serving the City of Sturgis. ...... {LISTEN}.

In addition to owning an insurance agency in Sturgis along with some other businesses, Perez has more business ventures in other communities around the State.

Frank Perez will finish the term of long time Commissioner Karl Littman, who announced in March that he was stepping down due to health concerns. This term runs until the end of 2022.

Perez will have to decide soon if he wants to seek his own term on the Commission in the upcoming November General Election.
