March Jobless Rates Up Slightly Around NE Indiana

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Jobless rates went up slightly around Northeastern Indiana from February to March.

According to data released by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, LaGrange County saw their unemployment go up from 1.6 to 1.7 percent from February to March. LaGrange County still has the lowest unemployment rate in the State for March.

Noble County has the largest increase in the area, going from 2.4 percent to 2.6 percent.

Elkhart County rose from 1.7 to 1.8 percent. Steuben County went from 1.9 to an even 2 percent while DeKalb County increased from 2 percent to 2.1 percent.

Statewide, the unemployment rate remained at 2.7 percent from February to March. The National jobless rate was at 3.8 percent.
