(MILTOWN TOWNSHIP) – Minor injuries were reported in a two vehicle crash in Cass County's Milton Township.

The Cass County Sheriff's Department was called to the intersection of U.S. 12 and Bell Road just before 4 PM Friday. Deputies determined that Briana Shepard of Edwardsburg was attempting to turn left onto U.S. 12 from Bell Road. She failed to yield to an approaching eastbound vehicle, driven by Richard Doerscher of Elkhart, and the two vehicles collided.

Shepard and her two children were checked at the scene by the SMCAS Ambulance and the Niles Township Fire Department and then released. Shepard said she planned to seek her own treatment for minor injuries.

Doerscher and his passenger were not injured.

Everyone involved were wearing their safety belts and child restraints.
