(CENTREVILLE) – Tuition costs are going up this fall at Glen Oaks Community College.

During Thursday's meeting, the Glen Oaks Board of Trustees approved a 3.01 percent tuition increase, beginning in the Fall 2022 semester. School officials say while no one likes the idea of raising tuition, it becomes a necessity to be able to keep up with rising costs.

The Board was also told that although headcount is down slightly for Summer and Fall, Fall credit hours are up 25 percent. That means students who are enrolled are taking more courses.
