(COLDWATER) – A Bronson woman has plead not guilty following an incident where two dogs attached a child.

Branch County District Court officials say 34 year old Torrie Ann Hoard was arraigned on a charge of a dangerous animal causing serious injury. The Branch County Sheriff's Department arrested Hoard in relation to the incident that happened at a home on Prairie River Road on January 29.

A six year old girl was attacked by a pair of pit bull/boxer dogs that Hoard owned. Officers say the girl's older brother saved her and then called 911 to report the incident.

Court officials say the girl had several puncture wounds from the attack with over 70 lacerations. She was taken to Bronson Children's Hospital where she had surgery to take care of some of the wounds.

During her arraignment, Hoard told court officials she had the dogs put down after they had been quarantined for ten days.

Hoard had her bond set at $5,000. She is scheduled to have a probable cause hearing on April 19 and a preliminary examination on April 26.
