(ELKHART COUNTY) – An early morning traffic stop on the Indiana Toll Road resulted in the seizure of drugs and two people being arrested.

Indiana State Police say at 3:46 Monday morning, troopers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the eastbound lanes of the Indiana Toll Road near Mile Marker 90 in Elkhart County. During the stop, troopers determined the driver, 39 year old Amanda Garner of Elkhart, did not have a valid driver's license, and she was wanted on an active arrest warrant out of Elkhart County.

A female passenger originally gave a false name to the trooper, but was identified as 39 year old Cary Beadle also of Elkhart. Beadle did not have a valid driver's license and was also found to have an active warrant out of St. Joseph County, Indiana. Troopers say a male passenger did not not have a valid driver's license.

The vehicle was impounded and during a search, drug paraphernalia was found, along with approximately 33 grams of suspected meth, suspected heroin, 10 syringes and pills.

Garner was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia, Driving While Suspended-Prior, and the active warrant. She was transported to the Elkhart County Jail.

Beadle had an apparent medical episode and was taken to an area hospital. She was released from the hospital on Tuesday and was arrested on charges of Possession of a Narcotic, Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Syringe, and Identity Deception as well as for the active warrant out of St. Joseph County.

The male passenger was released at the scene.

The matter remains under investigation.
