(STURGIS) – It looks like the opening of an Arby's Restaurant in Sturgis going to be a little later than originally planned.

According to Sturgis Township officials, they shared during their meeting on Monday they had been notified by Tria Restaurant Company that they will be pushing back the opening of the restaurant, which will be located at 209 South Centreville Road. That is the former Burger King building, which was owned and operated by Tria, and closed in February 2020.

Originally, Tria officials told Sturgis Township they were planning to start their renovations to the building in February and have it opened in May. However, Tria has now informed Sturgis Township that the Health Department found issues with the building, and have been speaking with the project development team to get them taken care of.

Tria says once the problems have been fixed, they will have a new timeline of when the restaurant will open.

There used to be an Arby's Restaurant in Sturgis, located at 106 South Centreville Road. That used to be the home of the Burger Chef Restaurant. That Arby's closed after being open just a few years.
