(MILLERSBURG) – Authorities say a missing man has been found.

Captain Jim Smith of the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says 79 year old Ervin Yoder was located after his family reported him missing. Deputies were called to the 14,000 block of County Road 40 in Millersburg at 8 AM Sunday to investigate Yoder's disappearance. During the initial investigation, officers found that Ervin was last seen at around midnight. The family discovered him missing when they woke up.

The Sheriff’s Office began a search of the area which included help from several local agencies. It was reported that Ervin Yoder suffers from dementia. He was visiting from Tennessee and may not be familiar with his surroundings.

The search effort was expanded to include numerous volunteer fire departments from the area, the Indiana State Police and their air unit, along with K-9 teams from the Indiana Search and Response Team from Noble County.

Smith says Yoder was eventually located and returned safely to his family.
