(COLDWATER) – Coldwater Community Schools Superintendent Terry Ann Whelan received a “Highly Effective” rating during her evaluation.

The Coldwater Schools Board of Education did Whelan's evaluation during their meeting Monday night. The Board went into closed session to do the evaluation, then came out of closed session to announce their decision.

In addition to the rating, the Board of Education also gave Whelan a one year contract extension, which now goes until June 30, 2025.

Whelan became the Coldwater Schools Superintendent in August 2015. She was hired after Dr. Tina Kerr stepped down as Superintendent to take a position with the Michigan Association Of School Administrators.

Whelan had served with the Coldwater Schools as their Business Manager from 1996 to 1998. She returned to work for the Coldwater School District in 2014 when she was hired to be the Chief Financial Officer.
