NE Indiana Jobless Rates Go Up From January To February

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Jobless rates went up around Northeast Indiana from January
to February, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

LaGrange County saw their jobless rate go up from 1.4 to 1.6 percent, which is still the lowest unemployment rate in Indiana for the month of February.

Elkhart County saw an increase from 1.6 to 1.7 percent. Steuben County grew from 1.7 to 1.9 percent, DeKalb County went from 1.8 to an even 2 percent while Noble County had the largest grown from 2.1 to 2.4 percent.

The highest unemployment rate was in Lake County, which went from 4.2 to an even 5 percent in February.

Statewide, the unemployment rate rose from 2.4 to 2.7 percent.
