(STURGIS) – The City of Sturgis is currently seeking applications for a vacancy on the City Commission representing the 4th Precinct.

Wednesday night, the Commission unanimously approved the immediate resignation of Commissioner Karl Littman. He announced that he was stepping down due to health reasons.

Sturgis City Clerk Ken Rhodes says the first step for any resident of the 4th Precinct is to make sure you are a registered voter in the Precinct. To make that verification, you can call the City Clerk's Office at 269-651-2321.

You must also provide a short essay expressing your reasons for seeking appointment as a City Commissioner. Please include a resume, any special qualifications, references and any potential conflicts of interest in serving on the City Commission.

When you are finished assembling this information, please forward it to the attention of the City Clerk, 130 North Nottawa, Sturgis, MI 49091. The deadline to receive all applications is Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 12 PM.
