(STURGIS) – Monday was the opening day of the firearm deer season in Michigan.

And one deer tried to hide from hunters in a Sturgis church.

In a posting on the Grace Fellowship Facebook page, it was shared that Pastors Luke Eicher and Justin Wickey along with Amanda Eicher arrived at the Church Monday morning, and noticed signs of a breaking and entering.

As they investigated more, they heard sounds coming from the upstairs portion of the Church's auditorium where their light and sound equipment is located. They looked up and found a 10 point buck roaming around.

The buck finally came down the stairs and went out through the window it broke to get into the building.

Church officials say there was some damage to the building, but the buck left strengthened in the Lord to go and face his battles.
