(COLDWATER) – A road in Coldwater is open after being closed for five months.

The City of Coldwater says Sauk River Drive is once again open. The road was closed between South Willowbrook Road and South Sprague Street as crews replaced a ten inch water main with a 16 inch water wain. In addition, the road was widened and repaved. Sauk River Drive also has a new dedicated center turn lane.

The City of Coldwater received a grant of $375,000 from the Michigan Department of Transportation to be used on this project. The City had to come up with a 20 percent match, which was $82,000.

City officials say some minor tasks still need to be done and should be finished by Friday.
