(THREE RIVERS) – An almost 50 year career in law enforcement will come to an end in November.

Three Rivers City Manager Joe Bippus says that Three Rivers Police Chief Tom Bringman will be retiring in November, after working 47 years at the department, the last 14 as Police Chief.

Bippus says Three Rivers has hired The CAUTION Group, to help screen applicants for the Police Chief position. They are a Michigan based professional consulting group that will work with the Three Rivers Human
Resources Department during this process.

A panel of community members will conduct interviews with the candidates. Bippus would ultimately be the one to make the appointment. It's hoped that a new police chief would be announced to the public in December.

If you are interested in submitting your name for the job, you must do so before October 15, and can do it on line at the City of Three Rivers' website. Click Here.

Bippus says they are excited for Bringman on his well earned and deserved retirement, and want to thank him for his dedicated service to the department and to the City of Three Rivers.
