Sturgis Man Injured In Sunday Motorcycle Accident

(SHERMAN TOWNSHIP) – A Sturgis man was injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday evening.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department was sent to Balk Road and Mintdale Road in Sherman Township just after 7 PM Sunday for a motorcycle accident. Deputies say a 33 year old Sturgis man was traveling north on Balk Road and struck a deer that was in the roadway.

The driver was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and was taken to Sturgis Hospital for non life threatening injuries. Deputies were assisted by the Tri-Township Fire Department and by Life Care Ambulance.
