ISP Looking For Recruits For Next Academy

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Indiana State Police is accepting additional applications for the 82nd Recruit Academy.

Individuals who are interested in beginning a rewarding career as an Indiana State Trooper must apply online. Click Here. This website will provide a detailed synopsis of the application process as well as information on additional career opportunities with the Indiana State Police.

If selected to proceed in the selection process, applicants will complete the Physical Abilities Test, Written Examination, and Oral Interview in one weekend. Testing will be held this Saturday & Sunday, October 2 and 3, 2021 at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield, Indiana. Applicants must pass each phase of the selection process to continue to the next phase. Further details and instructions will be sent by email to applicants by the end of business September 30, 2021.

Basic Eligibility Requirements and consideration factors for an Indiana State Trooper are: You must be a United States citizen; You must be at least 21 and less than 40 years of age when appointed as a police employee; You must meet a minimum vision standard (corrected or uncorrected) of 20/50 acuity in each eye and 20/50 distant binocular acuity in both eyes; You must possess a valid driver's license to operate an automobile; You must be a high school graduate as evidenced by a diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); and You must be willing, if appointed, to reside and serve anywhere within the State of Indiana as designated by the Superintendent.

Applications must be submitted electronically by 11:59 PM on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted for the 82nd Recruit Academy.
