Schoolcraft Man Sentenced For Child Sex Crimes

(UNDATED) – A Schoolcraft man has been sentenced on child sex crime charges.

The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force says 30 year old Ryan Ahern has been sentenced on charges of production of child sexually abusive material and computer crimes; use of a computer.

The investigation started when Ahern was found to be uploading child sexually abusive material to a cloud account. A search warrant was obtained for Ahern's residence, where digital evidence was seized and an interview was conducted.

Ahern was arrested and eventually plead guilty in Federal Court. On September 7 he was sentenced to 30 years in prison on the charge of production of child sexually abusive material.

The MSP Computer Crimes Unit encourages parents to speak to their children about the safe use of the internet.
