Head Injury Reported In Deer v Motorcycle Crash

(CLARENDON TOWNSHIP) – Authorities say a Tekonsha man was injured when he struck a deer with his motorcycle Sunday.

The Branch County Sheriff's Department says 49 year old David Briegel of Tekonsha was driving his motorcycle west on East Girard Road, just west of Dean Road, shortly after 12 AM Sunday when he hit the deer.

Deputies say they were notified at 5:47 AM of the incident. The were told that Briegel was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital by a friend at 5 AM. Briegel was later transported to Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo with a severe head injury.

Briegel was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
