(COLDWATER) – Tibbits Summer Theater will be continuing the rest of their 2021 season back at the historic Tibbits Opera House.

Tibbits Executive Director Christine Delaney says in March because of the continuing restrictions and increase in COVID-19 cases, it was decided to hold the 2021 season at The Ponds, an outside venue near the Branch County Fairgrounds south of Coldwater. This is the same location where the 2020 season was held.

Delaney says because of the excessive rain in the area recently, they have been forced to move back to the Theater for the safety of the company members, audience and the equipment. The move was made with the full support of the company and staff.

Delaney says Tibbits Opera House will be open at full capacity.

Over the last year, Tibbits has invested nearly $10,000 in equipment and supplies to improve the safety of the theater for its patrons. That includes a unit to help purify the air. Tibbits will continue to monitor and follow CDC guidelines and ask that patrons respect the efforts and do not attend if they have any symptoms of illness.

“The Fantasticks” will continue this week, with shows Thursday and Friday at 7:30 PM both nights.

The next production is the musical “You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown”, which will run July 14 through July 16 and then July 20 through July 23. To purchase tickets, you can call the Tibbits at 517-278-6029 or go on line. ...... {LISTEN}.
