(STURGIS) – The Sturgis Exchange Club recently announced the recipients of the 29th annual Doyle/Exchange Club Community Service Awards.

This year's award winners are the Sturgis Neighborhood Program and Sturgis High School. The Sturgis Neighborhood Program received $3,000 in support of their partnership with the CTE Building Trades program. Funds will be used to provide building trades students with warm weather gear, work boots, and other supplies needed throughout their construction work.

Sturgis High School will receive $1,000 to enhance the Freshman Focus orientation program for incoming students.

The annual awards are made possible by the William and Helen Doyle Fund at the Sturgis Area Community Foundation. The fund, established in 1991 by a gift from William and Helen Doyle, provides support for charitable or educational programs that service the Sturgis community.

Since it's formation, the Fund has granted a total of $117,086 to 80 charitable programs.

If you are interested in learning more about grant programs or opportunities for giving through the Community Foundation, you can call them at 269-659-8508.
