Warrant Issued For Man In Fatal Car v Bicycle Crash

(COLDWATER) – Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a Coldwater man allegedly involved in a car versus bicycle crash that resulted in a women's death.

On Thursday, Branch County Prosecutor Zach Stempien announced that his office had issued an arrest warrant for 27 year old Jacob Daniel Ward. Michigan State Police say Ward was allegedly driving a vehicle on April 12 that struck a Coldwater woman who was riding a bicycle on Old 27 near
Nye Road.

The woman was struck from behind and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Stempien says an arrest warrant was issued for Ward on May 25 on charges of operating while intoxicated causing death; reckless driving causing death; moving violation causing death; use of methamphetamines and use of marijuana.

Ward is a white male approximately 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and has not yet been apprehended by law enforcement.
