ISP Holding Drug Take Back Day On Saturday

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Two organizations are going to give people the chance to dispose of prescription drugs safely.

The Indiana State Police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency are teaming up bring the community their annual Drug Take Back Day. The event will be this Saturday, April 24 from 10 AM until 2 PM. The public will be able to turn over any prescription pills or liquid medication that is no longer needed or wanted. No questions will be asked.

In addition, vape pens with the batteries removed and vaping liquid will also be accepted. Also, no needles will be accepted.

The goal of this annual event is to help curb, if not eliminate, the theft of prescription drugs that lead to abuse and sometimes far more tragic events like death.

In LaGrange County, the drop off will be the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department.

There are several locations in Noble County. They include the Noble County Sheriff's Department; the Kendallville Police Department; the Ligonier Police Department; the Rome City Town Marshall's Office and the Avilla Police Department.

In Steuben County drop offs will be located at the Steuben County Sheriff's Office; along with the Angola Police Department and the Hamilton Police Department for non controlled substances only.

In Elkhart County you can drop off items at the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office, the Bristol Police Department, the Elkhart Police Department and the Elkhart County Solid Waste Management District.
