FORT WAYNE – The Westview boys cross country team is moving on to the state meet. The Warrior finished fourth at the semi-state on Saturday behind Fishers, Concordia, and Homestead.
Westview’s Spencer Carpenter led the way with a sixth place finish. Remington Carpenter was 30th. Kent Yoder 39th. Anthony Schwarz was 57th. Anthony Sanchez was 88th. Avery Niccum was 121st.
West Noble also advanced to the state with a sixth place finish.
Angola’s Izaiah Steury advanced individually with a 13th place finish. Lakeland’s Lucas Begley was 52nd.
The Northridge girls finished 16th at the cross country semi-state on Saturday.
Fairfield’s Carol Haldeman advanced to the state as an individual by finishing 23rd. East Noble’s Olivia Smolinske finished 48th while Angola’s Taylor Clemens was 70th. West Noble’s Yarency Murillo-Rivera was 80th.
West Noble’s volleyball season ended Saturday evening as the Chargers fell to top-ranked new Castle by scores of 25-13, 25-13, 25-22 in the championship match of the regional at Norwell. West Noble advanced to the title match with a 3-1 win in the morning against Bellmont. They finished the season with 31 wins and just 6 losses.

Purdue knocked off #2 Ohio State on Saturday night at home. Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm spoke to the media following the team's win over Ohio State. He says it is amazing what the team can accomplish when they put their mind to it.
Before the big game, Purdue student Tyler Trent predicted his Boilermakers would defeat 2nd ranked Ohio State in West Lafayette, Indiana... Tyler is battling terminal bone cancer and Purdue Coach Jeff Brohm made him team captain and gave Tyler a sideline seat for the improbable result. (Clip) And the Hollywood ending happened...Unranked Purdue hammered Ohio State 49--20.
