BENTON – Fairfield hired Randy DeShonen as its new boys varsity basketball coach last night. DeShone is familiar to Elkhart County basketball fans, winning the county’s only state title with Jimtown in 2004. He also coached two years at Elkhart Central. His lifetime record is 263-225.

NBA FINALS:
Toronto 114, Golden State 110 Toronto Raptors score a 114-110 win over the Golden State Warriors in game six of the NBA Finals, giving them a 4-2 series win. It is the first NBA Championship in franchise history for Toronto.


MLB:
Kansas City 7, Detroit 3 Cheslor Cuthbert hits an RBI single to right, giving the Royals a 7-0 lead over the Detroit Tigers in the bottom of the sixth inning. Whit Merrifield scored. Kansas City went on to win, 7-3, in the first ever MLB game in Omaha, Nebraska. The game was played there in anticipation of the College World Series, which begins on June 15th.
White Sox 5, Yankees 4 – Tim Anderson hits a three-run home run to center, tying the game at 4-4 for the White Sox against the New York Yankees in the bottom of the fifth. Ryan Cordell and Leury Garcia scored. Chicago went on to win, 5-4.
Dodgers 7, Cubs 3 – Max Muncy hits a two-run home run to center, giving the Dodgers a 4-3 lead over the Chicago Cubs in the bottom of the fourth. Chris Taylor scored. Los Angeles went on to win, 7-3.
