White Sox 10, Cubs 4 – The gap in the NL Central also closed to 1 1/2 games, as the division-leading Cubs lost to the crosstown rival White Sox on the South Side, while the Brewers beat the Pirates at PNC Park. White Sox pinch hitter Daniel Palka belts a two-run homerun in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the White Sox a 6-1 lead over the Chicago Cubs. The White Sox would beat the Cubs 10-4.

Kansas City 4, Detroit 3 – Nick Castellanos drives in a run with his double in the sixth inning, as the Tigers trailed the Kansas City Royals 4-2. Kansas City would beat Detroit 4-3.

Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein spoke to reporters Friday about the domestic violence accusations against shortstop Addison Russell. Epstein says he and owner Tom Ricketts spoke with Russell Friday morning.
