BLOOMINGTON – Lightning interrupted last night’s girls high school state track and field meet in Bloomington. East Noble’s Lexie Moriarity finished 17th in the 200 meter dash. Westview’s Aleka Ernsberger finished 8th in the 400 meter dash. DeKalb’s Tyler Schwartz was third in the 3200 meter. Goshen’s Jillia Kissinger was sixth in the 300 meter hurdles with Central Noble’s Kayla Kunkle 18th. The Northridge 4 by 400 meter relay team of Ariana Stoltzfus, Madison Sorg, Leah Stacker and Shelby Heerschop finished 27th. Central Noble’s Meleah Leatherman was eighth in the high jump. Angola’s Ali Cranston was tenth in pole vault. East Noble’s Lexi Morirarity finished third in the long jump. Central Noble’s Katelyn Ayres was seventeenth in discuss.

Hamilton Southeastern won the team rankings. DeKalb and East Noble tied for 31st. Goshen tied for 49th. Westview and Central Noble tied for 57th.

NorthWood won their sectional and Fairfield finished third to advance to the regional.

Central Noble’s Sydney Freeman compete this weekend in the Kentucky-Indiana Junior girls basketball all-star game at Ben Davis High School.

Detroit 5, Toronto 2 JaCoby Jones hits a two-run triple to deep right center, giving the Tigers a 2-0 lead over the Toronto Blue Jays in the second. Detroit went on to win, 5-2.

White Sox 8, Milwaukee 3 Tim Anderson hits a two-run triple to left center, giving the White Sox a 5-3 lead over the Milwaukee Brewers in the sixth. Chicago went on to win, 8-3.
