Monday morning spors

NORTH JUDSON – Westview extended its boys basketball season by another week, winning the North Judson Regional on Saturday.

The Warriors hung on for a 59-55 championship game win over Andrean after eliminating Canterbury in the morning session 61-41.

Westview will play Oak Hill at Huntington North this Saturday at 6 p-m for a chance to advance to the state championship game the following week against either Indianapolis Secenia or Forest Park.

UNDATED – Just two Indiana teams made the NCAA tournament this weekend.

Purdue is a 2 seed while Butler is a 10 seed. Both teams will start play at Detroit on Friday, where the Bulldogs will take on Arkansas and the Boilermakers will meet California State Fullerton. Big Ten Tournament Champions Michigan is seeded number 2 in the West and will open on Thursday against Montana.

Michigan State is a #3 seed in the Midwest and will face Bucknell on Friday night.
