STURGIS – Five more people will be inducted into the Sturgis High School Athletic Hall Of Fame.

The 2017 class is a mixture of former student-athletes along with a coach and a special inductee.

The student-athletes are Keith Keyser, a member of the cross country and track teams; Deb Sorkoram Blair, who participated in track, gymnastics, swimming and diving, and cheerleading; and Tom Dillon, who played football, basketball, baseball and ran track. The former coach is Jack Grant who was a teacher and coached the track and cross country teams.

The honorary inductee is Doug VanMeter, who has been on the chain gang for Sturgis home football games for 39 years, and hasn't missed a game since starting his duties.

The induction ceremony will be on Saturday, October 7 starting at 6 PM at the Sturges-Young Auditorium. Tickets are $20 each and are available at the Sturgis High School Athletic Office and must be purchased by 12 PM on Monday October 2.
