(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Indianapolis Colts have elevated Marcus Brady from quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator, the team announced Monday. Brady replaces Nick Sirianni, who was recently named head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. Brady has been part of head coach Frank Reich's staff since 2018. He started out as an assistant quarterbacks coach in 2018 and then was elevated to quarterbacks coach in 2019. He has worked with quarterbacks Andrew Luck, Jacoby Brisset and Philp Rivers. The Colts finished ninth in the NFL in scoring last season and Brady helped Rivers bounce back from a turnover-prone 2019 season with the Los Angeles Chargers. Rivers threw for 4,169 yards with 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions (nine fewer than in 2019) this season. Brady has plenty of offensive coaching experience. He spent nine years coaching in the Canadian Football League as an offensive coordinator or quarterbacks coach and another seven years playing in the CFL as quarterback. The Colts may have a different look on offense in 2021. Brady could have his fourth different Week 1 starter in as many seasons because Rivers announced retirement on Jan. 20 and Brissett will be a free agent this offseason. Rookie Jacob Eason is the only quarterback under contract for the Colts next season.
