Colts rally to top Packers 34-41 in OT
(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Indianapolis Colts' defense didn't start well at all, but it sure finished beautifully. Rookie safety Julian Blackmon, quickly becoming a star in Indianapolis, forced a fumble in overtime, leading the way to Rodrigo Blankenship's game-winning 39 yard field goal to lift the Colts to a 34-31 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium. After the Packers won the coin toss in overtime, Blackmon split a pair of would-be blockers on a wide receiver screen and popped the ball out of Marquez Valdes-Scantling's hands. DeForest Buckner jumped on it, and four plays later, Blankenship delivered the Colts (7-3) a signature win of the season. To put themselves in position to win Sunday, the Colts had to rally from down 28-14 at halftime. The first half was a wild ride in which the defense could find almost no answers for Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Offensively, the Colts didn't play poorly in the first half, but their defense was a little suspect. Things turned around for the Colts on both sides of the ball in the final two quarters. Philip Rivers finished the day 24 of 36 for 288 yards, 3 TD's and an interception. He led the Colts on 6 scoring drives. Rodgers was 27 of 38 for 311 yards, 3 TD's and an interception. With the win, the Colts improve to 7-3 while the Packers are 7-4.
