The Lakeland School Board honored Keith Thompson during last night’s school board meeting. Thompson is retiring as Lakeland varsity football coach. Superintendent Eva Merkel read a letter from the board to Thompson. They'll also give Thompson a football commemorating his accomplishments.

The Northeast Corner Conference basketball tournaments for boys and girls begin tonight. Opening night action has West Noble at Garrett and Central Noble at Eastside in the upper bracket. The lower bracket has Westview at Lakeland and Hamilton at Fairfield.

HS GYMNASTICS:
Northrop 95.875, Lakeland 88.75 (Lakers’ Emily Byler 2nd in vault and floor, 3rd in uneven bars and all-around. Baylee Slone 3rd on beam, 4th in vault, floor and all-around.

LSU defeated Clemson, 42-25, in the National Championship Game on Monday winning their fourth national title.

The Houston Astros accused of stealing signs during the World Series in 2017 are now facing penalties after an investigation by Major League Baseball. After the penalty was handed down the Astros fired their general manager.
