Ian Book ran for one touchdown and threw for another, Jahmir Smith rushed for two scores while Tony Jones Jr. rushed 15 times for 110 yards, including an 11-yard TD.

The NFL season begins on Thursday (September 5th) as the Packers take on the Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago. Bears head coach Matt Nagy spoke to the media at practice on Monday about facing a new head coach who he hasn't seen run a team before. Nagy says Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky is improving his game.

Out of Indy comes news that the Colts gave starting quarterback Jacoby Brisset a two-year contract extension worth $30 million. The Horseshoe also reportedly signed Brian Hoyer to a 3-year $12 million dollar deal to back up Brisset.

Minnesota 4, Detroit 3 – Max Kepler hits a 2-run single to give the Twins a 4-3 lead over the Tigers Minnesota beat Detroit 4-3.
Cubs 5, Seattle 1 – Kyle Schwarber hits a 3-run triple to give the Cubs a 4-1 lead over the Mariners Chicago beat Seattle 5-1.
Cleveland 11, White Sox 3 – Franmil Reyes hits a three-run double to deep center, giving the Indians a 3-0 lead over the Chicago White Sox in the bottom of the first.

D-backs top prospect Alek Thomas was named Most Valuable Player and Rays top prospect Wander Franco took home Prospect of the Year honors as the Midwest League rolled out its end-of-season All-Stars on Friday.

Fort Wayne’s second baseman Xavier Edwards and pitcher Joey Cantillo made the honor squad.
