ANGOLA – Angola High School football player Ryan Brandt has committed to play for Purdue. Brandt says the Boilermakers were the first team to believe in him and exemplify what family means.

FRANCE – The U-S Women’s soccer team is in the finals of the World Cup. Team USA beat England 2-1 after replay overturned the tying goal in the second half and goalkeeper Alyssa Naehr stopped a late penalty kick to preserve the lead. Netherlands and Sweden play in the other semifinal this afternoon with the winner facing the US for the cup on Sunday.
