CENTREVILLE – Voters will decide the fate of a millage request for Glen Oaks Community College on Tuesday.
The school is asking for .5 mills for a five year period. Glen Oaks President Dr. David Devier says the millage is being requested so the school can raise the match money for a State grant to help them with the improvement projects around the campus.
Devier says some of the projects that will be addressed if the millage is passed include upgrades to the CTE, automotive and welding labs; ADA updates; energy efficiency upgrades; updates to the library and internet accessibility, which are part of the $7million project.
Devier says he has spoken about the project and the millage request to several community and civic groups and the comments have been positive and in favor of the millage.
If anyone has questions about the millage request or the projects, they can contact Devier at Glen Oaks.
