Rev. Jason Reed installed as Pastor of Messiah Wolcottville

WOLCOTTVILLE – The Reverend Jason Reed was installed as Pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church in Wolcottville Sunday afternoon.
Reed was born in Lehighton, Pennsylvania. He attended Marywood College in Scranton where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in mathematics and minoring in computer science, secondary education and religious studies.
He accepted a job at the Lawrenceville School District in Lawrenceville, NJ in the information technology department.
He then attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, graduating in 2006. He was ordained at Trinity Lutheran Church of Lawrenceville, New Jersey and installed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mattoon, WI.
Four years later he accepted a call to Messiah Lutheran in Beloit, WI where he served nearly five years.
Rev. Reed spent the past 3 ½ years in Calhoun County, Illinois where he served three congregations.
Rev. Reed and his wife, Emily, have three children.
Reed follows Pastor James Tews who retired at the beginning of the year, and Interim Pastor Herbert Gerken of New Haven.
LCMS Indiana District Northeast Region Vice President Rev. Peter Brock presided and preached at the installation.
