State and national races dominate LaGrange Co. ballots

LAGRANGE – When LaGrange County voters head to the polls in less than two weeks most of the races will be at the top of the ballot.
The one they’ve probably heard the most about is the contest for U-S Senate thanks the overwhelming number of T-V ads. Incumbent Democrat Joe Donnelly is in a tight race with Republican Mike Braun, with Libertarian Lucy Brenton likely to pull a significant number of votes.
The House race seems just as competitive, with Democrats offering a viable candidate against incumbent Republican Jim Banks, who is seeking a second term.
Courtney Tritch has raised more money than Banks thanks to a grass-roots campaign. But the Republican Banks has successfully represented Fort Wayne’s Air National Guard base and veterans issues and has an advantage in the heavily Republican district.
Three candidates each are vying to Indiana Secretary of State and Auditor of State, with the Treasurer contest being a two-person race.
