Injured KPD officer underwent surgery

KENDALLVILLE -- Kendallville Police released more information Tueday on the officer struck by fleeing motorcycle last Friday.
In a news release the Kendallville Police Chief Rob Wiley says Officer Blake Kugler was initially taken to Parkview Noble Hospital Emergency Room and later transferred to Parkview Regional in Fort Wayne.
Kugler underwent surgery for a leg injury on Saturday and was released from the hospital.
The operator of the fleeing motorcycle is 52 year-old Kevin J. Turner of Huntertown.
Turner was captured after trying to elude an Albion Police officer and crashing his cycle.
He is held in the Noble County Jail with bail set at $100,000.00 on a charge of Aggravated Battery (Level 3 felony).
Additional charges stemming from the incident are pending.
