GOSHEN – Three LaGrange County residents were involved in a chain reaction crash east of Goshen Friday evening.
The result was a 12-year-old Topeka girl was dragged from a horse cart.
Elkhart County police say 17-year-old Freeman Beechy of Shipshewana rear-ended another car driven by 45-year-old Doris Peruski of Lagrange.
The impact pushed Peruski’s car into the horse cart, causing 12-year-old Lori Bontrager to be ejected. She became caught in the cart’s wheel and was dragged several feet before stopping.
Medics transported Bontrager to Parkview Lagrange Hospital for treatment of a cut to the forehead and bruising to the hip.
Deputies cited Beechy for following too closely.
