LAGRANGE – No charges are filed in Monday’s accident involving a bicyclist west of Lagrange.
The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office says 16-year-old Amanda Schrock of rural Lagrange was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center after her bicycle was struck by a Chrysler mini van on U-S 20 at County Road 350 West around 4:30 a-m.
Schrock suffered serious injuries to her head and upper body in the collision.
Investigators say Schrock and another bicyclist were heading eastbound in front of the van. The first bicyclist made a left turn heading north on 350 West. 20-year-old Jarin Miller of Topeka was driving the van noticed the first bicyclist but didn’t see Schrock, who also turned north.
Police say the crash remains under investigation.
