Goshen wins Green Ribbon School Award

GOSHEN – Goshen Community Schools received the U.S. Department of Education’s Green Ribbon Schools Award.

The Green Ribbon Schools recognition award honors schools that are exemplary in reducing environmental impact and costs; improving the health and wellness of students and staff; and providing effective environmental and sustainability education, which incorporates STEM, civic skills and green career pathways.

In total, 35 schools nationally received the 2019 award.

Dr. Jennifer McCormick, Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction said “Preparing children for a successful future means teaching lessons both inside and outside the classroom. I congratulate Goshen Community Schools for creating an atmosphere stressing the importance of personal and external sustainability through physical wellbeing and environmental care and concern.”
