WHITE PIGEON TOWNSHIP – A man is behind bars after a two state police chase.
According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department, a Bristol Police Officer tried to stop a pick up truck at 2:30 AM Thursday near County Road 131 and State Road 120. The driver, a 50 year old Three Rivers man, fled from the officer, driving through Bristol and then entered Michigan.
The pursuit ended in the 16,000 block of East Lake Drive. The suspect struck a Sheriff's Department cruiser and the deputy fired his weapon. Along the way, the suspect allegedly damaged several properties.
Sheriff Brad Balk says his department is conducting an investigation into the officer firing his weapon.
