Monday, January 21, 2019

CENTREVILLE – One of the suspects arrested in connection with the November murder of a man has been bound over to Circuit Court.

St. Joseph County District Court personnel say Theron Hunt will have his case transferred to Circuit Court after a two day preliminary hearing. He is charged with two counts of armed robbery, and one count each of open murder, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and second degree criminal sexual conduct.

Hunt, along with 24 year old Kayla Chaney and 20 year old Tyler McNeil were arrested in connection with the November 15 shooting death of Kevin Johnson at a home on South Street in Flowerfield Township at 2:30 AM. The suspects were arrested the next day.

In addition to the death of Johnson, the trio also are charged with robbing Stanielle King. Court officials say the incident was due to a drug deal gone bad.

McNeil and Chaney waived their preliminary hearings. All three remain held on $4 million bond each in the St. Joseph County Jail.
