HAMILTON -- The resignation of Chris Gerbers was accepted this week by the Hamilton Comunity School Board. Gerbers has served the district as the high school principal.

Gerbers has been selected to serve as Principal of Sturgis Middle School.

Gerbers has spent the past 16 years as an administrator, teacher, and coach in the State of Indiana. He has been a school administrator for the past 11 years and Hamilton since 2016.

Gerbers was officially approved by the Sturgis Board of Education during their meeting on Monday, January 14. Sturgis Superintendent Art Ebert shared with the Board that over 40 individuals applied for the position, and that the selection process included an application screen, phone interview, first round interview, a job related performance task, reference checks, and a second round interview.

Gerbers will officially begin his duties as the Sturgis Middle School Principal on Monday, January 21, 2019.
