Steuben head-on crash leaves woman pinned

PLEASANT LAKE – A two vehicle accident in Steuen County on Friday resulted in one person being trapped in the vehicle.

Deputies responded just after 5 p.m. to Bellefontaine Road west of Meridian Road near Pleasant Lake.

They say a Dodge Avenger driven by 26-year-old Kimberly Custer of Butler with two juvenile occupants ages 1 and 8 was westbound on Bellefontaine when it traveled left of center and struck an SUV driven by 36-year-old Tamanda Keesbury of Hicksville,Ohio.

Kimberly Custer was pinned in the Avenger for roughly one hour until firefighters were able to free her.

All occupants of both vehicles were transported to area hospitals by EMS for medical treatment.

Assisting at the scene was Steuben County EMS, Lagrange County EMS, Pleasant Lake Fire Rescue, Hamilton Fire Rescue, Salem Fire Rescue, Angola Police Department, and Hamilton Police Department.
